A Local Hero

Florence Duckett and her husband John came from England through the United States and arrived in Saskatoon in 1905. Saskatoon was still a village and Saskatchewan had just become a province. They lived there for the winter. They were both artists, but in the spring Florence persuaded John to try his hand at farming. She felt they'd have a better life in the country.
